The federal capital is set to welcome its first-ever seven-star hotel, with construction expected to begin by the end of this year. The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada.
The hotel will be located on the Srinagar Highway in Sector G-13, near the Link Road connecting to Islamabad’s new international airport. The project will be developed under a public-private partnership model, as confirmed by the minister.
In addition to the luxury hotel, a state-of-the-art international hospital is also planned in the same area. Both developments will be carried out through an open auction under the supervision of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA). The authority has reversed an earlier decision and officially approved the construction of the hotel and hospital.
Minister Pirzada said the projects are part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and investment opportunities in the capital. The FGEHA has also earmarked 11 more sites to be developed via the same public-private partnership (PPP) approach.
These include:
The developments are expected to boost tourism, business, and healthcare services in the region, while also generating employment and economic activity.
