Launched very recently in Pakistan, the new electric BAW Brumby takes on compact urban hatchbacks in the local market such as the Suzuki Cultus VXL. But which one is better? It is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive (FWD). The Cultus has a top speed of 180 km/h on paper, but can reach a maximum of 130-140 in reality. It delivers a claimed fuel efficiency between 16 and 18 km/liter. Its fuel tank capacity is 35 liters.
The Brumby EV uses a McPherson independent suspension system at the front and a three-link non-independent suspension at the rear. Braking consists of disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The vehicle rides on 155/65 R13 tires.
The Cultus features a MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. Similar to the Brumby, it uses disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, but rides on slightly larger tires sized 165/65 R14.
The official feature list for the BAW Brumby EV focuses primarily on essential equipment suitable for city driving. Officially confirmed convenience features include electric windows, keyless entry, tire pressure monitoring, and parking sensors.
Suzuki Cultus VXL includes power steering, power windows, dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), air conditioning, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
BAW Brumby EV is priced at around Rs. 3,800,000.

Both the BAW Brumby EV and Suzuki Cultus VXL have their own respective advantages. The winner here depends on buyer preference.
