Pakistan’s national volleyball calendar for 2025 promises to be one of the busiest and most significant in recent years, with the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) confirming participation in a wide array of international events across multiple age groups and regions.
From Central Asia to the Gulf and Southeast Asia, Pakistani teams, both senior and youth, are set to showcase their talent on multiple fronts, reflecting the sport’s growing development and ambition in the country.
The season kicks off with the CAVA (Central Asian Volleyball Association) Nation’s League, where Pakistan’s senior men’s team will head to Fergana, Uzbekistan. The event features top Central Asian sides and serves as a competitive platform to fine-tune strategies ahead of tougher continental assignments.
The championship was originally slated to be held in Pakistan but had to be moved due to the Pakistan-India war.
Just days after the senior event, Pakistan’s U16 squad will stay in Uzbekistan to participate in the CAVA Men’s U16 Volleyball Championship. The event is aimed at nurturing youth talent in Central Asia, and Pakistan’s junior program has been gaining momentum in recent years, making this an important opportunity for long-term player development.
The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Men’s Nations Cup in Bahrain will see Pakistan test itself against some of the strongest emerging sides from across the continent. The tournament functions as a secondary continental championship, providing critical exposure and ranking points.
In a major coup for the PVF, Russia’s national volleyball team is scheduled to visit Islamabad for a three-match bilateral series. This high-profile engagement not only boosts Pakistan’s international visibility but also offers rare, top-tier competition on home soil.
Pakistan’s junior talents will then travel to Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, for the 2nd edition of the Asian Men’s U16 Championship. With participation from powerhouses like Iran, Japan, and Korea, this tournament is seen as the gold standard for youth volleyball in Asia.
A landmark moment in Pakistan’s youth volleyball calendar will arrive with the team’s participation in the FIVB U19 World Championship in Uzbekistan. Qualification alone marks a major achievement for the federation, and the event will provide invaluable experience against the world’s best.
Pakistan will return to Bahrain in October for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, a multi-sport event where volleyball is a featured discipline.
Rounding off the year, Pakistan will compete in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh. The event includes several Islamic countries and serves as a blend of high-level competition and diplomatic engagement. Volleyball is among the premier team sports, and Pakistan will aim to make its presence felt.
With a packed 2025 calendar, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation is placing strong emphasis on consistent international exposure, youth development, and homegrown visibility. From promising U16 squads to senior-level engagements against global giants like Russia, the roadmap reflects both ambition and strategy—one that could see Pakistan re-establish itself as a formidable force in Asian volleyball.
