The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised objections to several of the government’s budget targets, including those set under the public sector development program, prominent sources told ProPakistani.
A major concern flagged by the IMF is the substantial throw-forward of development projects, which has now exceeded Rs. 10,000 billion. This figure represents the cost of approved but incomplete development schemes.
Sources said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Ministry of Planning to provide detailed reports on 500 ongoing development projects. The majority of these projects are infrastructure-related.
The government is also facing challenges in finalizing the development budget for the next fiscal year. Sources said coordination between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning remains unresolved, as no budget target has yet been agreed upon.
Also, today’s meeting of the Annual Planning Coordination Committee to finalize PSDP targets has been postponed. The committee’s new meeting date will be announced later. It is expected to review the performance of the current fiscal year’s development initiatives while proposing the development strategy for the upcoming fiscal year.

Why coordination b/w the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning remains unresolved as yet? Because this can be done only by competent persons who must be loyal to the nation.
And we are born with mindset that each one of us is Loyal to nation while all those sitting in government are traitors! Alas! a pitiable mindset
These Goans And Jockers had *Pledged’ Compromised And Commited National Pride Under Security Threats by These Blood Sucker’s IMF-WORLD BANK- ADB- IDB and Other Lending Mafias of Local Banks??**.
That’s extremely wrong .
ADB is not IMF.
IMF and World Bank do not use local banks. They don’t even do anything unless they are asked. Pakistan asked them for funds.
They pointed out how Pakistan is wasting public funding on things that don’t matter or earn anything in return.
While imf is not good , it’s Pakistan own fault
How the nation has recovered after reaching near to default is only because of suggestions and policies implemented under directions of IMF. Our inflation has reduced, Rupee remained stable during last year , foreign remittance increased. Some major shifts persuaded by IMF that the nation is reaping results – We should recognize our well-wishers – thanks IMF.
should we believe on this news, did you listen all this directly from IMF person? nothing truth comes out, just personal interest rumors.
all hearsay as usual, no productive outcome.
Existing projects are ignored . Existing sectors are ignored but heyyy , let’s waste public funding on new projects that exceed spending
Same old tactics same old nonsense. And they ask why pakistan doesn’t develop
