Windstorm/rain-thunder predicted in upper & central parts during the week with occasional gaps. The Met Office predicted that moist currents are continuously penetrating the upper and central parts of the country, and a westerly wave is also likely to enter the upper parts on 28th May.
Under the influence of this weather system:
- Windstorm/Rain-thunder (with isolated heavy falls/hailstorm) are expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karak, and Waziristan from 27th (evening/night) to 31st May with occasional gaps.
- Windstorm with light to moderate Rain-thunder is also expected in Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, D.G. Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, and D.I.Khan on 27th (evening/night) to 30th May with occasional gaps.
Possible Impacts and advice:
- Windstorm/dust-thunderstorm/hailstorm and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels etc in upper/central parts including Islamabad.
