The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed a tea processing facility and filed a case against those involved in the distribution of low-quality tea in the Rajputan Rohi Nala area.
The operation was carried out on the orders of PFA Director General M. Asim Javed. During the raid, officials found the suspects actively engaged in the repackaging of substandard tea using branded labels intended to deceive consumers.
A total of 2,500 kilograms of unsafe tea was immediately discarded, and the facility was sealed on the spot. According to DG Javed, the tea failed on-the-spot quality checks and posed serious health risks.
The PFA reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and warned that strict action would continue against those involved in food adulteration and illegal trade practices.
