Police have arrested a man posing as an Army Major and his “private,” aka his accomplice, near Faiz Ganj in Khairpur district, Sindh, for extorting large sums of money from civilians.
According to local sources, the suspects, dressed in military uniforms, stopped vehicles and collected illegal payments of 10,000 rupees per vehicle. Over time, they managed to extort millions of rupees from drivers and travelers in the area.
Authorities recovered weapons from the suspects at the time of arrest. Both individuals have been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the full extent of their activities and whether others were involved.

Local residents praised the police for their swift action and urged authorities to ensure strict punishment for those impersonating security officials and exploiting the public.
This isn’t the first time someone has posed as a fake Army Major, as last year the police arrested three individuals, including one posing as an army officer, on the grounds of impersonation and unlawful entry into Swat University.
