Hajj Sermon to be Broadcasted in 35 Languages This Year

The Hajj sermon in Makkah will be broadcast in 35 languages this year, with preparations for translation now complete. According to the head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, this initiative aims to deliver the sacred message of Hajj to pilgrims around the world.

This year’s translation project aims to reach over five million Muslims globally, using live, simultaneous interpretation from dedicated studios in Makkah. The sermon will be accessible through a variety of platforms, including satellite TV, FM radio, mobile apps, and social media channels. Special attention has also been given to accessibility, with sign-language feeds and other inclusive formats being developed.

The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 goals, which include modernizing Hajj services and promoting a message of moderation, unity, and religious tolerance. Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs, emphasized that the translation effort is designed to amplify the spiritual and ethical themes of the sermon—such as human fraternity and civilizational harmony, to a truly global audience.

This year, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah will deliver the sermon on the Day of Arafah, while other Hajj rituals will be led by Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais. The translation service is expected to benefit millions of pilgrims, especially those who previously faced language barriers during this important religious occasion.
