Chicken Prices Decrease Before Eid

Just before Eid, poultry prices have seen a noticeable decline in several major cities, including Peshawar, Lahore, and Multan.

In Peshawar, the price of live chicken has decreased by Rs15 per kilogram. The official rate now stands at Rs380 per kg, down from Rs420 per kg just two days ago.

In Lahore, live broiler chicken prices have dropped by Rs 10 per kg. The wholesale price has been set at Rs359 per kg, while the retail price is now Rs373 per kg. Egg prices in the city have also changed slightly, with a Rs1 increase, bringing the rate to Rs311 per dozen, compared to Rs310 per dozen the previous day. Yesterday, the wholesale and retail rates for live broiler chicken were Rs369 and Rs383 per kg, respectively.

Meanwhile, Multan has witnessed the steepest decline, with a Rs25 per kg drop in chicken prices. The current wholesale rate for live broiler chicken is Rs304 per kg, and the retail rate is Rs318 per kg. A day earlier, the wholesale and retail prices were Rs329 and Rs343 per kg, respectively.
