Aurat March Islamabad has announced a protest demanding justice for Sana Yousaf, the 17-year-old who was brutally murdered in her own home. The protest will take place on Thursday, 5th June 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Press Club, F6, Islamabad.
In their official statement, Aurat March organizers expressed devastation and anger over Sana’s killing, describing it as part of a wider pattern of violence against women and girls that often goes unpunished. They emphasized that Sana’s murder is not an isolated incident, but a reflection of ongoing gender-based violence in society.
The group has called on citizens, activists, students, and allies to join the peaceful protest to honor Sana’s memory and demand justice. Their demands include the immediate arrest and prosecution of Sana’s killer(s), a transparent investigation with regular public updates, and stronger protections for women and girls both online and offline. They also called for an end to the culture of impunity that enables such violence.
Aurat March urged the public to join the protest to remember Sana’s name, face, and life, and to stand against the erasure of women by patriarchal violence.
The protest will be held under the banner #JusticeForSanaYousaf.
