The Islamabad Police have arrested the man accused of murdering TikToker Sana Yousaf, just 20 hours after the crime took place at her residence.
According to police officials, the suspect, Umar Hayat alias Kaka, was traced and apprehended in Faisalabad after fleeing the capital. Investigators say CCTV footage and advanced technology played a key role in tracking him down.
Hayat, who is also a TikToker, claimed to be a friend of the victim and has confessed to the killing during interrogation.
Sana Yousaf was shot dead inside her home in Islamabad on Monday by an armed man whose face was covered. The brutal incident shocked social media users and sparked demands for justice.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police for their swift response. “Well done Islamabad Police. Sana Yousaf murder case traced, accused arrested and weapon recovered within 20 hours,” he said in a statement.

Exemplary punishment….some people cannot accept a female in the lead…
Whatever the circumstances, a young girl was murdered, and that should be the focus right now. Speaking negatively about someone who has lost their life, especially in such a tragic way, isn’t just insensitive, it’s inhumane. Sana was a human being with dreams, struggles, and a life ahead of her. No one deserves what happened to her. Let’s show some empathy and let her rest in peace. If we really want to reflect, it should be about how we as a society failed to protect her, not about blaming her for being young and looking for love: something completely normal at that age.
