Samsung has officially teased the long-rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, hinting at a major update to its flagship foldable lineup. The device is expected to debut in early July at a launch event in New York, alongside the standard Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the more affordable Z Flip 7 FE, which will also be a first for Samsung.
The teaser highlights a notably slim profile for the Fold 7 Ultra. While Samsung hasn’t revealed exact dimensions, the device is expected to be thinner than both the Z Fold 6, which measures 5.6mm when unfolded, and the Z Fold Special Edition (4.9mm). If confirmed, this would make the Fold 7 Ultra Samsung’s slimmest foldable yet.
Samsung is also making bold claims about the Fold 7 Ultra’s camera, describing it as “best-in-class.” This positions the device as a direct competitor to the Vivo X Fold3 Pro, which has earned praise for its high-performance camera system. While full specifications are not yet available, expectations are high for a flagship-grade imaging experience.
We can expect it to use the same camera system as the Galaxy S25, which is Samsung’s best so far. But given the Fold’s much higher price tag, Samsung may have something even bigger in the works.
The Fold7 Ultra has been in development for some time. Originally rumored to join the Z Fold6 series, the Ultra variant was shelved in favor of the Z Fold Special Edition, also known as the Samsung W25 in China. That model features an 8-inch main display, a 6.5-inch cover screen, a 200MP main camera, and 16GB of RAM—all packaged in a thinner and lighter design.
The upcoming Fold 7 Ultra is expected to build on that foundation, likely incorporating similar premium specs and even more refinements in design and performance.
