Finland Shifts Visa Processing Center From UAE for Pakistani Students

The Finnish authorities have announced a temporary facility for Pakistani students seeking residence permits, allowing them to complete the identification process in Doha, Qatar, instead of Abu Dhabi.

From July 9 to August 6, Pakistani applicants can submit their biometric data and other identification requirements at VFS Global in Doha. This step comes in response to challenges faced by Pakistani students trying to travel to the UAE for appointments under current rules.

According to the Finnish Embassy, students already on the waiting list for VFS Abu Dhabi have been automatically shifted to the VFS Doha schedule. They will be contacted directly with further instructions.

Pakistani students who have confirmed appointments in Abu Dhabi but wish to switch to Doha must contact the Embassy of Finland in Abu Dhabi by July 11. If slots in Doha are available, students will receive an update and guidance from the embassy.

The Embassy clarified that appointments offered for VFS Doha cannot be rescheduled, due to high demand and limited slots. Those unable to attend in Doha will need to book a new appointment at VFS Abu Dhabi.

The residence permit cards will be delivered to the Finnish Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Students will be informed once the cards are ready and can then choose a delivery option.

Applicants are required to pay the residence permit fee online before arriving at VFS Doha.
