Here is Every Pakistani Picked in the BBL 15 Draft

Pakistan’s cricketers were in high demand at the BBL 15 overseas draft, with six players from the country finding teams among over 600 registered players.

In a draft filled with big international names, Pakistan’s fast bowlers, all-rounders, and batting depth caught the attention of multiple Big Bash League franchises, including the Brisbane Heat, who spent the first pick on Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Here’s a full breakdown of the Pakistani players selected in the BBL 15 draft:

Player Name Team Round Pick No. Category
Shaheen Shah Afridi Brisbane Heat Round 1 Pick 1 Platinum
Haris Rauf Melbourne Stars Round 1 Pick 2 Right to Match
Mohammad Rizwan Melbourne Renegades Round 1 Pick 4 Platinum
Shadab Khan Sydney Thunder Round 2 Pick 12 Gold
Babar Azam Sydney Sixers Round 2 Pick 14 Platinum (pre-draft signing)
Hasan Ali Adelaide Strikers Round 3 Pick 23 Gold

Pakistan had the most players drafted from any overseas country outside of England—and for good reason. With world-class T20 performers available for the full season, teams didn’t hesitate. Shaheen and Rauf will headline the pace battle, while Babar and Rizwan are set to shape the top-order narrative of their teams.

While players like Saim Ayub, Hassan Nawaz, Imad Wasim and Salman Ali Agha maybe disappointed to miss out on the BBL 15 draft, they still have a shot at making the rosters with several teams reserving their rights to pick at a later stage.

With Pakistani stars spread across six franchises, BBL 15 could have a distinct green tinge this year and fans in Australia and Pakistan alike will be watching closely.
