The National Highway Authority (NHA) held an open auction for 72 toll plazas situated on some of the busiest highways across the country. The auction took place at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
According to the spokesperson of the NHA, this auction was organized to ensure transparency and provide equal opportunity for participation. In order to maintain openness in the process, media representatives were specially invited to witness the event.
Chairman NHA, Shehryar Sultan, supervised the entire auction process. The event was held under the special instructions of the Prime Minister and the Federal Minister for Communications, with the aim of making the process transparent and easily accessible.
A large number of interested individuals and investors participated in the bidding process. For the first time, participants praised the NHA for conducting such a transparent open auction.
Many attendees stated that a fair and open bidding process would help increase investor confidence. Business owners and investors expressed satisfaction with the move, calling it a positive step towards improving trust in public sector initiatives.
