The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has launched a new digital system for the registration and licensing of private clinics and hospitals across the province, transitioning the entire process online for the first time.
This development comes as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between SHCC and the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS), under the World Bank-funded Competitive & Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) project.
SHCC Chairman Dr Khalid Hussain Sheikh said this shift will simplify the registration process for healthcare institutions. “With the support of the CLICK Project Director, we’re moving from manual to digital registration and licensing processes,” he said.
SHCC CEO Dr Ahsan Qavi Siddiqui said the Board of Commissioners has assigned the commission the task of automating doctor and hospital registrations. He added that a larger digital transformation is underway through an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is already 80% complete.
Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, a member of the SHCC Board of Commissioners, emphasized that the primary goal is to ease compliance for healthcare providers while safeguarding the rights of both institutions and patients.
