Vivo Y400 Pro 5G Could Be One of the Best Selfie Phones of 2025

Vivo has officially introduced the Y400 Pro, its latest addition to the mid-range smartphone lineup. The device combines a high-refresh-rate display, efficient performance hardware, but stands out when it comes to the front camera prowess.

Here are the details.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y400 Pro features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ 3D curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits. This allows for improved visibility in direct sunlight and smoother motion transitions. The screen includes support for wet-touch input and houses an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

The device also features an IR blaster, allowing it to function as a remote control, and stereo speakers with support for Hi-Res Audio, both wired and wireless. The phone is available in three color variants: Fest Gold, Nebula Purple, and Freestyle White—the latter featuring a Baroque Pearl texture.

Internals and Software

At its core, the Y400 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, supported by 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15. Vivo has not outlined the duration of software updates for the Y400 Pro.

Cameras

The Y400 Pro includes a dual-camera setup at the rear: a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait effects. The system supports Sony’s Multifocal Portrait, which allows portraits shots at three distinct zoom levels—1x, 1.5x, and 2x—without losing clarity.

On the front, the 32MP selfie camera supports 4K video recording, which should ensure highly detailed images and videos.

Battery and Pricing

The device is equipped with a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging. According to Vivo, the bundled charger can recharge the phone to 50% in approximately 19 minutes.

The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at $290, while the higher-end 256GB storage variant is listed at $310. The company has not yet announced availability or pricing for other markets, including Pakistan.
