Chicken Prices Increase in Two Big Cities

The cost of chicken has seen another hike in Lahore and Multan, with chicken meat prices rising by Rs43 per kilogram over the past three days.

In Lahore, the price of live broiler chicken increased by Rs 10 per kg today, while chicken meat became Rs 14 more expensive per kg. The wholesale price of live broiler chicken now stands at Rs274 per kg, and the retail price has reached Rs288 per kg. Chicken meat is now being sold at Rs 417 per kg, and eggs are available at Rs 244 per dozen.

In some open markets in Lahore, clean chicken meat is being sold for as high as Rs450 per kg, while boneless meat in Tollinton Market has soared to Rs520 per kg.

Meanwhile, Multan also witnessed sharp price increases. Today, the price of live broiler chicken jumped by Rs26 per kg, and chicken meat saw a Rs39 per kg hike. However, egg prices dropped by Rs14 per dozen.

The wholesale rate of live chicken in Multan is now Rs258 per kg, and the retail price has climbed to Rs272 per kg. Chicken meat is being sold at Rs394 per kg, while a dozen eggs now cost Rs230.
