High Chances of Muharram Moon Sighting on June 26

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted a strong possibility of sighting the Muharram moon on June 26, 2025.

According to a SUPARCO spokesperson, the new moon is expected to be born on June 25, 2025, at 3:32 PM (local time).

By the evening of June 26, the moon will be approximately 28 hours and 15 minutes old, making it easily visible under favorable weather conditions.

SUPARCO added that in Pakistan’s coastal regions, the gap between sunset and moonset is expected to be around 75 minutes, which is considered ideal for moon visibility.

If the sky remains clear, the chances of moon sighting will be very high on the evening of June 26.

Should the moon be sighted as expected, the first day of Muharram 1447 AH will likely fall on June 27, 2025.
