Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has taken legal action against more than 10,500 motorists, motorcyclists, and public transport drivers over the past week as part of a wide-reaching crackdown on traffic violations in the capital.
According to officials, the campaign aimed at improving road safety and enforcing traffic rules has resulted in fines and penalties across multiple categories.
During the campaign, 1,157 vehicles were fined for displaying non-standard number plates, while 1,087 motorcyclists were ticketed for riding without helmets.
Additionally, 3,172 vehicles were penalized for illegal parking, 1,024 for driving in the wrong direction, 1,723 for signal violations, 518 for not wearing seat belts, and 175 for using mobile phones while driving.
A total of 1,599 vehicles and motorcycles involved in serious offenses were impounded at various police stations.
Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Zeeshan urged citizens to adhere to traffic laws and cooperate with officers to ensure smooth and safe movement throughout Islamabad. He emphasized that ITP is committed to preventing accidents and maintaining traffic discipline by enforcing the law equally for all road users.

Well done , motorbike lane must impose on Islamabad expressway because most of motorbike drivers drive on fast lane and due to this reason accident happens. In past traffic wardens always warned them for lane discipline in Islamabad.

Worst road criminal are motor bikers, they adhere to no laws or rules. Why and how are they issued licenses. Three people are riding and motor police is just watching.
Islamabad should be motor bike free city like precovid. Karachi had Worst motorcycleist and Islamabad was peaceful now we have joined their ranks and surpassed them. All govt schools have underage riders . Why is motor police now impounding their motorcycle
