Pakistan Railways Reduces Coaches From 16 Passenger Trains

Pakistan Railways has announced a reduction of 30 coaches from 16 passenger trains across the country due to a shortage of passenger carriages, according to a recent notification issued by the department.

The affected trains include major services such as Khyber Mail, Tezgam, Hazara Express, Awam Express, Karachi Express, Millat Express, Zakaria Express, and Fareed Express, among others.

Additional trains impacted by the cutback include Karakoram Express, Subak Raftar, Shah Hussain Express, Pakistan Express, Islamabad Express, and Sukkur Express, all of which have had coaches removed from their usual configurations.

Railway officials have also confirmed that the Bolan Mail, which operates between Quetta and Karachi, will now run with 9 coaches instead of 12. Furthermore, the train will no longer operate daily and has reverted to its previous schedule of running only twice a week.

It is worth noting that Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, during his visit to Quetta on March 25, had announced plans to run the Bolan Mail daily starting April 1. However, this commitment has yet to be implemented.
