From Rabat with Respect: The World Applauds Pakistan’s Knowledge Leadership

“This recognition belongs to every young mind who dares to dream,” said Minister Prof.Ahsan Iqbal at the 6th Vice Chancellors’ Forum of Universities in the Islamic World and indeed, the applause that echoed were for a country that has dared to dream bigger.

At the Forum, global Vice Chancellors and academic leaders lauded Pakistan’s education revolution. From landmark expansions in university infrastructure to deep investments in innovation ecosystems, Pakistan was celebrated as a model of resilient, inclusive, and ethical transformation.

The Minister prof Ahsan Iqbal’s speech reverberated with urgency and inspiration: “If we do not lead in shaping the future, we will be shaped by it. Nations that do not invest in minds become dependent on those that do.”

With projects like the Pakistan-U.S. Knowledge Corridor, the establishment of National Centres in cutting-edge fields, and the launch of Quantum Valley Pakistan, Pakistan is positioning itself not just as a participant—but as a pioneer of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions.

At the Forum, Pakistan’s Uraan Pakistan framework was cited as a global best practice, and Prof. Ahsan Iqbal’s call for an ICESCO Knowledge Alliance, Islamic Grand Challenges Fund, and Digital Education Transformation received wide support.

The global praise was profound. Vice Chancellors openly admired Pakistan’s scale of ambition, its disciplined reform, and its commitment to inclusive education—from Balochistan to Gilgit-Baltistan.

As Prof. Ahsan Iqbal reminded the Islamic world: “Bricks and mortar do not build civilizations—ideas do.”

In Rabat, the world applauded Pakistan not just for ideas—but for the courage to turn them into reality.
