Xiaomi just announced a range of new hardware, including its first-generation AI Glasses and a premium pair of open-ear wireless earbuds named OpenWear Stereo Pro. Despite being first-generation AI glasses, Xiaomi’s iteration still manages to beat Meta’s rival AI glasses made in partnership with Ray Ban.
Xiaomi AI Glasses
Xiaomi’s new AI Glasses are equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX681 sensor capable of capturing 2K video at 30fps, as well as still images and live broadcasts. The design omits any traditional display and relies instead on a fully voice-controlled interface, paired with a touch-sensitive panel on the right temple for manual input.
Weighing just 40 grams, the glasses support prescription lenses and optional electrochromic lenses, the latter offering adaptive shading. For audio and recording, they feature five microphones with bone-conduction and wind-noise reduction, along with dual speakers for playback.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset, running Xiaomi’s custom Vela OS. The onboard 263mAh battery is rated for up to 8 hours and 36 minutes, significantly outlasting current competitors. Charging is handled via USB-C, eliminating the need for a separate case.
The AI Glasses are available in Black, Brown, and Green, priced at $278 in China. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed international availability.
OpenWear Stereo Pro
Xiaomi also introduced the OpenWear Stereo Pro, its latest entry in the open-back earbud category. These earbuds are constructed using skin-friendly liquid silicone and feature a three-point support system with a titanium ear hook, aimed at providing comfort during extended wear. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.
Audio performance is delivered by an industry-first five-driver system, anchored by an 18×13mm loudspeaker, and sound tuning is provided by the Harman Golden Ear Team. The earbuds support built-in audio recording and include AI-powered translation and transcription features.
Battery life is rated at 8.5 hours on a single charge, with the charging case extending total use to 45 hours. The OpenWear Stereo Pro is offered in Gold, Black, and Silver, with a retail price of $140 in China.
