Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has denied social media claims that Rs. 110 million was spent on biscuits for guests at the Chief Minister’s House.
The recent meeting between the PTI social media team and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has brought clarity to the viral claim that Rs. 110 million was spent on biscuits for guests at the Chief Minister’s House.
During the meeting at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, Gandapur instructed the social media team to actively highlight the government’s achievements and respond to opposition allegations.
Addressing the “biscuits” controversy, he stated that the Rs. 110 million figure being circulated is actually the total annual operating budget for the Chief Minister’s House. He emphasized that most of this amount is spent on meals for class four employees, not on personal or guest refreshments.
Gandapur explained that, in the past, these employees had to pay for their own food, but the government now covers this expense. He also pointed out that the annual budgets for the Chief Ministers’ Houses in Punjab and Sindh are much higher, at Rs. 2 billion and Rs. 1 billion, respectively. He stressed that none of the KP budget was spent on himself personally.
The Chief Minister also addressed other criticisms, including allegations of holding secret meetings and not using a helicopter during the Swat River incident. He clarified that he has dedicated the official helicopter for public use and does not use it for personal purposes.
No evidence has been found to support the claim that Rs. 110 million was spent solely on biscuits.
