Safety Advisory Issued for Tourists Amid Monsoon Rainfall

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Tourism Department has issued a safety advisory for tourists and travelers amid the ongoing monsoon season, warning of potential dangers caused by heavy rains.

According to the advisory, travelers face increased risks from flash floods, landslides, and slippery roads, especially in hilly and mountainous regions. The department has urged tourists to stay informed by regularly checking weather updates from the Meteorological Department before planning any trips.

Visitors are strongly advised to avoid flood-prone or rain-affected areas and to exercise extreme caution on narrow or steep routes where rainfall may create hazardous conditions. Unnecessary travel, especially during periods of intense weather, should also be avoided.

“In case of an emergency, tourists can reach out to the KP Tourism Helpline at 1422,” the department stated.

Officials emphasized that the safety of tourists remains a top priority. They requested all travelers to adhere to the advisory and cooperate with local authorities to ensure a safe and enjoyable travel experience during the rainy season.

The advisory comes as monsoon rains continue to affect parts of the province, with many areas already experiencing localized flooding and travel disruptions.
