The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly approved a staggering budget of Rs. 18.30 billion for the 2025–26 financial year.
The decision was made during the Board of Governors meeting in Lahore, chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting focused on how this funding will help improve Pakistan cricket at all levels including administration and on the field.
According to sources, a large part of this PCB budget will be used to run domestic cricket tournaments across the country. These competitions are seen as the backbone for finding and preparing future national team players.
The budget also sets aside significant funds for international cricket. This includes hosting home series, arranging overseas tours, and providing modern training camps to prepare players for the upcoming key tournaments.
Players’ central contracts and match fees will be paid from this budget as well, as the PCB plans to continue offering better financial security to national and domestic cricketers.
Additionally, the board will invest in upgrading stadium facilities, including improvements in overlooked cities, with some of the work already underway.
A portion of the funds will be reserved for women’s cricket development, including grassroots programs, domestic competitions, and the national women’s team preparations.
With this historic allocation, the PCB hopes to create a more professional setup that can deliver consistent performances on the world stage.
