In Sindh, motorcyclists are now facing hefty fines for failing to use the newly issued number plates.
Karachi’s traffic police have increasingly come under criticism, with many alleging that the department has become more of a revenue-generating body than a traffic management authority. Motorcyclists are reportedly being fined for not displaying number plates with a new monogram, or for using customized plates such as those featuring traditional Sindhi ajrak designs or larger-sized fonts.
Under the campaign to enforce standardized number plates featuring an official monogram, citizens have once again been instructed to replace older plates.
However, the public has raised serious concerns over the initiative. Many residents argue that while the Excise Department charges Rs. 1,850 for the official number plate, similar versions are available in the market for just Rs. 600.
I applied on 15 February 2025 for new number plate and paid the fee also. How can I know whether my number plate has come or not? Because there is no online system to check @
There is go and check at the website http://www.excise.gos.pk and must will show you request received not printed yet, means have to pay again what we had already paid and get your desired number plate
Question is whose going to check and audit such matter

Is old number plates illegal when sind govt failed to provide replacements, sadly they are encouraging to use commercial made Ajrak plate from market as alternate to old number plates…. Old number plates still are illegal.. Traffic police as touts of sind govt just minting money and forcing pople to retaliate on sind govt rip off. Big scam of sind govt to mint money out of Ajrak design number plates under the garb of enhanced security features, totaly baseless

The number plate is an excuse. Nothing will change after the replacement of it.
The only thing they want to do is to collect as much money as possible during the time of their current government.

New method of corruption with support of law. Only in Karachi, if you cross Tool Plaza, lot of motorcyles without no plates papers and helmet are on the road even cars and transport vehicles.
Whys law is only in Karachi? Because govt will face high resistance if they implement law in interior Sindh…,
