Sui Northern Sends Rs12 Million Gas Bill to Rawalpindi Resident

In a glaring case of mismanagement, a resident of Rawalpindi has been issued an astonishing gas bill of Rs12 million by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), as reported by 24NewsHD TV.

The recipient, Raja Allah Ditta, who lives in the Dhamial area, visited the local SNGPL office to complain. However, officials allegedly insisted that the bill must be paid in full.

In a video statement, Raja Allah Ditta explained that he is a low-income citizen who hasn’t been able to pay his gas bills for the past four months. He expressed shock after receiving a bill amounting to Rs 1.2 crore, which he said is completely beyond his capacity to pay.

Following media coverage, an SNGPL spokesperson confirmed that the matter has been taken seriously and an investigation has been launched.

The spokesperson acknowledged that the exorbitant amount may be due to a clerical or technical error. The company has assured that a corrected bill will be issued once the probe is complete.
