Islamabad authorities have decided to expand the city’s surveillance infrastructure by adding 3,100 more CCTV cameras under the Safe City initiative.
The additional cameras will be installed on major roads, busy intersections, and at entry/exit points, and will connect to the Command and Control Centre.
This expansion brings Islamabad’s total to over 5,000 cameras, all equipped with facial recognition and real-time monitoring capabilities.
Officials say it will significantly enhance urban security and aid crime prevention efforts.
