The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has approved the construction of a new flyover on Azeempura Road to address traffic congestion and improve road connectivity.
According to officials, the proposed flyover will link Shahrah-i-Bhutto with Sharae Faisal, two of Karachi’s busiest roads. The new route is expected to ease travel, particularly for commuters heading towards Jinnah International Airport.
The structure will extend around 500 metres and is designed to provide a signal-free corridor, aiming to reduce travel times and manage the increasing volume of daily traffic. The decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, where the PC-1 of the project was discussed and approved.
The project has been allocated Rs. 1.4 billion and is expected to serve as an alternate route for residents, particularly amid development works on Shahrah-i-Bhutto.
Once the Planning and Development Board gives formal approval, construction is set to begin without delay. The flyover is expected to be completed within one year.

Project might be true and will become reality after a decade.
First of all Karachi’s present infrastructure needs attention of the sindh Government
Worst roads, shortage o Sweet Water and lawlessness, snatching of valuables, mobiles, motorbikes etc.
Shahrae Bhutto is not among the busiest roads in Karachi.
Before our future generations start enjoying
the benefits of this flyover, there will be years of suffering for the present generation!
If Shahrah-i-Bhutto is busy than the publisher has never visited old area. Bridge might be a need but there are many other priorities with infrastructure in various areas. Make a County/council system, The higher the tax from area council the more development in that area. Right now, only specific areas are undergoing development based upon ethnicity.
Do you mean to say that this government is developing only the areas where Sindhi speaking population resides?
After three years of work delays we will see a masoomana comment “ہم شرمندہ ہیں “
Hopefully this project will be completed in under 5yrs
Ohhhh whoooo Approx 100 years project 100billon budget Karachi become to more beautiful than New York, sorry wakeup all Budget gose in corruption new properties buy Dubai enjoy 😉
This is good to serve people by making flyover. Other most important requirement is many road crossing bridges are required in korangi main highways. People crossing the roads apni jan hathaili pay rakh ker.
Too much traffic main saddar Garden area M a jinnah road but no fly over being contructed in this area unfortunately
First start and complete working on infra structures in ignored areas of District Central, East, West and few areas of South. Priorities should be set on the basis of merit but not politically biased.
If it’s for elites to reach to & from airport, probable will be completed on high priority, with lots of corruption & delays (as per current norms). Remaining city roads remains dug, drains destroyed / choked, man holes without covers, foot paths broken / occupied by street vendors, garbage dumped…
