Jaecoo J6 Electric SUV Officially Launched in Pakistan as the ‘Bad Boys’ Ride

The five-month-old alliance between Chery International and Hyundai Nishat’s NextGen Auto has produced its first retail model for Pakistan: the battery-powered Jaecoo J6 SUV. The launch signals real headway for the partnership, which Chery forged in February 2025 after ending a long relationship with Ghandhara Automotive.

This launch follows a significant shake-up earlier this year. In February 2025, Chery ended its long-time collaboration with Ghandhara Automotive and signed a new agreement with NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of Hyundai Nishat Motors. This alliance marked Chery’s push to introduce electric and hybrid models from its Omoda and Jaecoo sub-brands, both specializing in New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), including Battery EVs (BEVs), Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs), and Fuel Cell EVs (FCEVs).

Dimensions

The Jaecoo J6 measures 4,406 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,715 mm high, riding on a 2,715-mm wheelbase with 195 mm of ground clearance. Two trims use 225/60 R18 tyres, while the range-topping version upgrades to 225/55 R19 rubber.

Exterior highlights include matrix adaptive headlights with high-beam control, LED DRLs and rear lamps, follow-me-home lighting, automatic headlights, heated and folding mirrors with indicators, panoramic sunroof, roof rails, rear fog lamp, NFC key access, and an electric charging port cover.

Safety-focused touches like the emergency stop signal, LED high-mount brake light, and rear-view mirror floor lights round out the exterior package.

  • Great initiative though too expensive. Not to mention maintainence and repair costs are not shown

    Still better priced

  • Will soon become junkyard of Chinese EVs, without charging stations / electrical safety / fire fighting / emergency management of these battery operated vehicles (thermal runaway can burn everything / everybody within 2 – 3 seconds), with doors / mirrors / locks / communications all electronically controlled !

    • How’s that related to chinese evs ? They have manual release doors.

Charging stations ? You can charge at home.

Electrical safety ? Kindly check your home for that

Thermal runway ? In evs ?

Kindly next time publish research to support that claim

      • Mr. Haq is right. You are uninformed, not even misinformed. Thermal runway is related to batteries and not with EVs. I suppose you are a genius and the rest of the world is dumb in spending massive amounts of money on charging infrastructure.

  • In a country with poverty >46% NEVs price > 10 million PKR leads to corruption, crime, extrimism and terrorism, Only,by slaves.

  • Aesi gari ki koi bhi zarurat nahin he ye aik corruption ka Rasta khul jaae ga khas kr k afsaraan nai Gari k shoq men awam ko looten ge 20laakh k range men CHOTI CHOTI garian banai jaaen

  • I’m delighted to know full EVs are coming to Pakistani market, when Local assembly of EVs are expecting to start manufacturing in Pakistan and how much Price reductions can be expected, any small ev production’s we can see in near future.
