Model School Inaugurated in Karachi — Launch of Education Card and Teachers’ Modern Training

A significant milestone has been achieved in the promotion of education in Gulberg Town. The Government Bahadur Yar Jang School, located in Federal B Area Block 11, has been completely restored and designated as a model school.

Before this development, the school was in a disastrous condition. Washrooms were unusable, the roof of the building leaked during rainy days, and the ground was overrun with wild plants and garbage. Classrooms had broken seats and windows, with no fans, no lights, and no access to clean water. The entire school had been left in a state of disrepair, severely affecting the quality of education and student well-being.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Gulberg Town, Mr. Nusratullah, announced that all government schools in the Federal B Area will be gradually restored and upgraded. He emphasized that serious efforts are being made in academic development, including the training of teachers in modern disciplines, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technological skills development. He stated that the Education Card is more than just a support mechanism—it lays the foundation for a transformative educational movement, which, God willing, will expand throughout Karachi.

In addition to the restoration of Bahadur Yar Jang School, multiple modern facilities have been added to ensure a progressive learning environment. These include a computer lab, a basketball court, swings for children, a spacious playground, and a safe and visually appealing campus. These facilities are designed not only to deliver quality education but also to enhance students’ physical, mental, and creative abilities.

Advisor on Special Initiatives, Umair Ahmed, presented a comprehensive visual presentation showcasing the distinct initiatives of Gulberg Town. The presentation highlighted various development projects, innovations in education infrastructure, and community-driven programs aimed at revitalizing public spaces and promoting inclusive growth in the area.

Chairman Nusratullah also presented a summary of his two-year performance, mentioning the repair and carpeting of roads, upgradation of public schools, installation of open-air gyms, renovation of public parks and fountains, improvement of water supply and sewerage systems, installation and maintenance of streetlights, implementation of rainwater harvesting systems, and extensive cleanliness campaigns. He also highlighted the success of motivational initiatives, such as the “Shining Stars Festival,” which is organized to recognize student talent. He reiterated that transforming Gulberg Town into a clean, developed, and education-friendly model remains his central mission.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Town Chairman Farooq Naimatullah, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Hameed Suhag, teachers, students, and a large number of local residents and dignitaries. Participants praised the restoration of the Government Bahadur Yar Jang School, the provision of modern facilities, and the launch of the Education Card. They commended Jamaat-e-Islami and the Gulberg Town administration for their visionary and hands-on efforts to promote education and community development.
