Owner of Pakistan’s Most Expensive Number Plate Passes Away

Muzammil Kareem Paracha, a Karachi businessman who made headlines for purchasing the “A1” number plate for Rs. 100 million at Sindh’s recent premium number plate auction, has passed away after a long illness with cancer.

Paracha owned multiple businesses and properties valued in the hundreds of millions. He was recognized for his interest in rare and luxury vehicles, and his collection included several exclusive number plates.

The Sindh government’s first premium number plate auction raised a total of Rs 675.4 million from 40 plates, with the “A1” plate achieving the highest price. Paracha was the winning bidder for this plate.

Other top-selling plates included Premium Number 5 at Rs 50.3 million, Number 7 at Rs 40.6 million, Number 8 at Rs 40.1 million, and Number 9 at Rs 40 million.

The auction, organized by the Sindh Excise Department, took place at a hotel in Karachi. Another notable sale was the ‘786’ plate, bought by businessman Sarosh for Rs 20.65 million, with the ownership certificate presented by Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
