Top Canadian University Invites Pakistani Students to Apply for MS and PhD

In a move aimed at boosting Pakistan’s presence in advanced technology research, the Ministry of IT & Telecom has announced a prestigious academic opportunity for Pakistani graduates to pursue Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) and Ph.D. programs at McMaster University, Canada.

The initiative offers specializations in some of the most in-demand fields of modern engineering and technology, including:

  • Mechatronics
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Electric & Autonomous Vehicles
  • Energy Storage and Hybrid Powertrain Systems

The research positions are offered through the Department of Mechanical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Ryan Ahmed at the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC), a globally recognized hub for smart mobility innovation.

Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Interested candidates can submit their Expression of Interest through the application link provided by the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, this collaboration is part of its broader vision to create a “future-ready Pakistan” by equipping local talent with global exposure, cutting-edge research skills, and opportunities to work on transformative technologies.

“This partnership with McMaster University reflects our commitment to nurturing innovation and enabling Pakistani graduates to contribute to advanced research on a global scale,” the Ministry stated.

Applications are currently open, and shortlisted candidates will proceed through the evaluation process.
