Controversial property tycoon Malik Riaz Tuesday said that the situation has reached a point where we are being forced to completely shut down all Bahria Town activities across Pakistan.
In a post on X, the property tycoon said that due to the arrest of dozens of staff members, freezing of all the company’s bank accounts, the seizure of staff vehicles, and other stringent measures, Bahria Town’s operations across the country have been severely paralyzed.
Our cash flow has been completely destroyed, it has become impossible to provide daily services, we are unable to pay the salaries of our tens of thousands of staff, and the situation has reached a point where we are being forced to completely shut down all Bahria Town activities across Pakistan, Riaz said.
We are certainly one step behind this last step, but the situation on the ground is getting worse by the minute, he warned.
Earlier in the day, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced that it will auction multiple high-profile properties belonging to real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on August 7, 2025.

But he has plenty of cash for BT properties in Dubai! And 6 homes in emirates hills. And 190 million pounds in the UK that Imran Khan laundered for him. This claim makes no sense.

The sight of Malik Riaz Hussain in tears at this stage should serve as a powerful lesson to all builders and developers: that bribing politicians, bureaucrats, members of the establishment, judiciary, media personalities, and other influential figures to accumulate wealth through fraudulent housing schemes may bring temporary success—but not lasting peace or honor.
His journey—from announcing housing projects to allegedly turning them into gambling dens and instruments of deceit—has been marked by widespread exploitation of the public’s trust and lawful earnings. To keep this corrupt system afloat, he kept offering bribes to those in power. But the hunger of the corrupt was insatiable—“do more, pay more.”
In the end, he finds himself surrounded not by respect, but by legal troubles, social disgrace, and the curses of those whose lives he disrupted—people whose dreams and savings were crushed by betrayal.
The outcome? Neither peace nor honor for him or his entire family. A harsh but necessary reminder for all.
This is witch-hunt. Nothing else.
