The National University of Technology (NUTECH) has brought international recognition to Pakistan by excelling in the World University Rankings for Innovation 2025.
Out of 1,325 universities worldwide, fifteen leading Pakistani institutions participated in the rankings. NUTECH stood out by securing the top spot in the “Technology Development and Application” category.
The university also achieved an impressive 218th position among the world’s top 400 universities overall. Additionally, NUTECH was ranked 31st in the Industrial Application category and 43rd in Infrastructure/Technologies.
The World’s Universities with Real Impact, or WURI, is a global university ranking system that focuses on evaluating and recognizing universities based on their real-world impact, innovation, and contributions to society, rather than just traditional academic metrics.
Unlike conventional rankings that emphasize research output and academic reputation, WURI highlights how universities address social challenges, foster entrepreneurship, promote ethical values, and create practical solutions for the real world. Categories in WURI rankings often include innovation, industrial application, social responsibility, student mobility, crisis management, and more.

I am afraid but this is not the way universities are ranked worldwide for their excellence. Therefore, do high quality research for paper publish, abolish student friendly practises, focus more extensive course outlines (which only remain on papers in Pakistan) and maintain top quality learning environment, so that learners may come to know what is true meaning of higher education.
NUTECH achieved 218 position in the world ranking. It’s pity and reflects sorry affairs in Pakistan education system

Kudos to NUTECH for such an outstanding performance on the world 🌎 stage. We have the tendency of downgrading the achievements of our own institutions fir the benefits of western countries putting them on a pedestal that very often they don’t deserve. We should celebrate the accomplishments of our institutions and people, be they in the scientific, technological, medical, commercial, or any field for that matter and not always promote those of the West. Today, as we realize that we have nothing to envy of the Western World and that intelligence is not the exclusive gift granted to its members, we should be thankful and grateful to the fact that there are countries in the East, the South, South East, Middle East, and South America that are becoming successful world players in almost every field of human endeavors that are raising great concerns to Western powers because they always felt that they would keep us under their yoke foe ever and ever.
When countries that are now part of the BRIC or are considering joining it succeed and begin to challenge the hegemony of the Western Powers, Western Europe and the USA begin to shake in their political and economic boots. They never expected that. And now, it’s too late for them to do anything about it.
It’s a new dawn for the rest of the world. The rise of China, India, South Africa, Brazil, and other South African and South American countries is not only so obvious but also unstoppable. The World will never be the way it used to be: subservient to Western Powers. It belongs now in many ways to the remaining countries.
