Punjab Extends Summer Vacation for Schools

The Punjab School Education Department has officially extended the summer vacation for all public and private schools across the province. According to a notification issued on August 7, 2025, the holidays will now continue from August 14 to August 31, with schools scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025.

This decision follows the approval of the Competent Authority and is a continuation of the department’s earlier notification dated May 20, 2025. The extension applies to all educational institutions under the School Education Department’s jurisdiction.

The notification instructs all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) to ensure strict compliance with the revised schedule in both letter and spirit.

This official confirmation comes a day after the department had denied the authenticity of a fake notification that had been circulating online, falsely claiming an extension of summer vacation.

At the time, the School Education Department clarified that no such decision had been made, and that any official updates would be communicated through proper channels.

The new notification clears the confusion and confirms that the summer break will now continue until the end of August. Schools will resume with full academic schedules on September 1.
