4 Hotels in Islamabad Are Allowed to Sell Alcohol: Interior Minister

The Ministry of Interior has informed the National Assembly that four major hotels in Islamabad, namely Marriott, Serena, Best Western, and Mövenpick, hold licenses to sell alcohol under specific conditions.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in a written reply during the Question Hour, said the first-time license fee is Rs. 500,000, with an annual renewal fee of Rs. 150,000.

Conditions include storing alcohol separately from other items, notifying the relevant officer within seven days of a liquor consignment’s arrival, and allowing the excise officer to cancel the license without assigning a reason.
