4 Punjab Districts to Get Model Agriculture Farms

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has reaffirmed her administration’s dedication to improving the lives of farmers, emphasising that the prosperity of the agricultural community is vital to Pakistan’s overall progress.

She made these remarks during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Agriculture Department and GCI for the management of Model Agriculture Malls in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Sahiwal.

The chief minister announced that these four centres will become fully operational within 45 days, providing farmers with a one-stop hub for agricultural inputs, financial services, and expert guidance. The facilities will also offer access to modern farming machinery, tractor services, and rental equipment to encourage mechanised farming. Additionally, drone spraying services will be introduced to improve crop protection and boost yields.

Maryam Nawaz further disclosed plans to establish ten more Model Agriculture Malls in other districts, extending the reach of these benefits to a larger farming population. She described the initiative as a landmark reform in the agriculture sector, aimed at reducing farmers’ dependence on middlemen and providing them with integrated solutions to enhance productivity and rural economic stability.

Calling the project a record achievement delivered in a short time, she pledged sustained efforts to modernise agriculture and turn it into a robust, technology-driven industry.
