Chief Justice’s Pension Has Increased by Over 300% Since 2010

The Ministry of Law and Justice on Tuesday presented details of the pension of the Chief Justice of Pakistan after retirement to the Senate.

In a written reply during the Question Hour, the ministry also shared a year-wise breakdown of pension increases from 2010 to 2024. According to the details, the Chief Justice’s pension was Rs. 560,000 in 2010, Rs. 644,000 in 2011, Rs. 773,000 in 2012, and Rs. 850,000 in 2013.

In 2014, it rose to Rs. 935,000, followed by Rs. 1,005,000 in 2015, Rs. 1,105,000 in 2016, and Rs. 1,217,000 in 2017. The pension reached Rs. 1,338,000 in 2018 and Rs. 1,452,000 in 2021.

The ministry stated that in 2023, the pension was Rs. 1,657,000, while in 2024 it increased significantly to Rs. 2,390,000. This reflects a massive increase of almost 330 percent.
