KP to Launch Real-Time Alerts Against Land Encroachment

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Revenue Department has decided to digitize government land records and develop a real-time alert system to detect encroachment on state-owned land.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by KP Minister for Revenue Tariq Mehmood Aryani and attended by key stakeholders and relevant authorities.

Under the new system, relevant officers will receive automated alerts whenever an encroachment on government land is detected. If an officer fails to take action, the system will record the officer’s tenure during which the encroachment occurred and flag the officer for inaction, according to a statement issued after the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the digitization of “fard” issuance. It was decided that citizens would be able to obtain a fard through the Dastak App and NADRA’s e-Sahulat service.

Officials also agreed to use geospatial technologies, including Google Earth and RS-GIS, for site marking. The move is intended to reduce interference by patwaris in the land-marking process.

The meeting further decided that all mutation processes would be fully digitized to improve transparency and efficiency.

In addition, revenue staff will be given a clear deadline to resolve pending land dispute cases.
