Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to launch direct flights to Barcelona and Milan as part of its post-reopening expansion into European destinations, following directives from Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
The move comes after the resumption of PIA’s European operations, which had been suspended for several years.
The defence minister instructed the airline to prioritize routes to Barcelona and Milan due to the large overseas Pakistani communities residing there.
Milan, in particular, is home to a significant number of people from Sialkot, Asif’s hometown, making it a key destination for the national carrier.
The renewed focus on European connectivity follows the United Kingdom’s decision in July to remove Pakistan from its air safety list. The announcement by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott marked the end of a five-year ban on Pakistani airlines in British airspace.
She commended the joint efforts of aviation authorities from both countries and expressed interest in flying with Pakistani airlines.
In response, PIA quickly resumed operations to Manchester, introducing three weekly flights operated by Boeing 777 aircraft. The airline’s second phase will see the restoration of flights from Islamabad and Lahore to London and Birmingham, pending necessary approvals.

Why karachi is not included in flights restoration to Europe and UK? Only schedule to Isb and Lahore are in the news.
Doesn’t bother us we karachites, as we have better and frequent choices in terms of Middle east airlines to all over the world . But being nationalist we would support our airline even if we get poor service, poor quality food, agonising delays, dirty toilets and illmannered, discourtious staff.

Or atleast they should do a code share agreement with European airline eg pia operating from north and aur France from Karachi, same with British airways, KLM Lufthansa etc. we Karachites need better connections for Europe and north America instead of relying on Turkish and ME based airlines

Pia don’t have enough wide body aircraft so the best option should be to buy or lease Chinese 919 yet later expand to 929 that’s under construction and more luxurious capacity And cheaper flying machine then our old Pia planes

PIA must consider Oslo (Norway) and Copenhagen (Denmark) two flights weekly in each city from Lahore and same from karachi, or what deems fit as per requirements.
WHY NOT COPENHAGEN. COPENHAGEN IS MAIN AIRPORT FOR SCANDINAVIA. MANY FAMLIES KIDS SUFFER A LOT WHEN THEY VIST PAKISTAN WITH CONNECTING FLIGHTS.ITS TAKE FROM 16 TO 24 HOURS FOR 7000 KM.
You should not travel with PIA at all. This is same as to boycott products and services of army commercial house. In 1947 Britain handed over or outsourced our slavery to Pakistan army. Pray to God markhor mordaarkhor haramkhor adamkhor swines may be destroyed , AMEEN INSHALLAH AMEEN.
Stay at home. We don’t need more Pakistanis in Europe.
