SUPARCO Releases Forecast for Rabi-ul-Awwal Moon Sighting

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has issued its prediction for the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon for the Islamic year 1447 AH.

According to the forecast, the new moon is expected to be born on August 23, 2025, at 11:06 am. By the evening of August 24, the moon will be around 32 hours and 13 minutes old, making it visible under favorable conditions.

In Pakistan’s coastal areas, the time difference between sunset and moonset is expected to be approximately 45 minutes. If the weather remains clear, the moon is likely to be sighted that evening.

As a result, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal is anticipated to fall on August 25, 2025.
