The Swat Education Board has decided to exempt matric and intermediate students from flood-hit regions from paying fees.
According to an official notification, students from Swat, Buner, and Shangla who were impacted by recent floods will not be required to pay board fees. This measure aims to support children in these affected districts.
A special form has also been provided for students in these areas to apply for the fee exemption.
Flash floods have caused widespread devastation in northern Pakistan, with Buner district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffering the highest number of casualties. Over 340 people have lost their lives across the region, and hundreds of homes and key infrastructure have been destroyed.
An emergency has been declared in several districts, and both provincial and federal authorities are carrying out rescue and relief operations. Many roads remain blocked, power supplies are disrupted, and communication services have been affected.
The government has released funds for relief and rehabilitation, while the Pakistan Army and rescue teams continue efforts to reach affected communities and restore essential services.
