Foreign Tourist Harassed by Police With Personal Questions

Dutch motorcyclist and popular YouTuber Noraly, known as Itchy Boots, recently shared her mixed experiences while traveling through northern Pakistan. With over 2.8 million subscribers, Noraly posted a video about her journey from Islamabad to Besham, a trip that took her almost 11 hours.

While she praised the warm hospitality of local people and the beautiful scenery, Noraly also spoke about feeling uncomfortable with the behavior of some police officers. Throughout her ride, she was escorted by police and anti-terrorism teams for her safety—a common practice for foreign visitors in certain areas.

However, Noraly said that several officers asked her personal questions, such as her age, marital status, and why she was traveling without her husband. She politely pushed back, asking, “Is this a police question?” to make her discomfort clear.

Noraly stressed that she did not blame any individual officer, and one policeman even apologized to her, but she reassured him that it wasn’t his fault. Despite these awkward moments, she highlighted the kindness of ordinary Pakistanis, mentioning a hotel owner who refused to take payment for her meal, treating her as a guest. She also described the natural beauty of northern Pakistan as “absolutely stunning.”
