Islamabad Police Officers Reportedly Beaten and Robbed at Gunpoint

Two Islamabad police officers were brutally assaulted, held hostage, and robbed at gunpoint after responding to a disturbance call in Sector E-11 early morning.

According to police, the incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. when Assistant Sub-Inspector Khushhal Ahmed and Constable Muqaddar were dispatched to an apartment following a report from the Safe City system.

Upon arrival at apartment 402, they encountered 15 to 20 armed men allegedly led by Asim Jahangir, a known criminal.

The suspects reportedly turned violent, cornering the officers and beating them with the butts of their weapons. The attackers seized official and personal belongings, including an official wireless set, mobile phones, and wallets containing cash.

After the robbery, the group fired shots while fleeing, warning the officers not to report the incident. Residents of the building said gunfire created panic, forcing many to hide in their apartments. The injured officers later called for reinforcements and were taken to PIMS for treatment.

Police registered a case under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act. Six suspects were later arrested during a follow-up raid, while Jahangir, accused in multiple criminal cases, remains at large.
