DRAP Warns Public Against Counterfeit Medicines in Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has cautioned citizens against using several counterfeit batches of medicines currently being sold in different regions of Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.

In its public alert, DRAP also shared images of the fake products, which were found in circulation under the names of popular local and international pharmaceutical companies. According to the authority, these counterfeit medicines are being marketed as treatments for fever, body pain, infections, gynecological conditions, digestive problems, fungal diseases, and neuropathy.

The warning followed reports from provincial health authorities, after which drug testing laboratories confirmed that the listed medicines were fake. DRAP officials said they had traced a network involved in producing and distributing these counterfeit drugs.

To curb their sale, the regulator has issued a rapid alert to pharmacies and the general public, urging people to avoid purchasing or consuming these products.

• Gabica 300mg Capsules (Neuropathy) – Batch No. 403C27
• Amcomox Capsules (Throat infections) – Batch No. 08
• OmniDol N-Uk Tablets (Fever and body pain) – Batch No. 1220

DRAP has urged the public to immediately report suspicious medicines and avoid purchasing drugs from unauthorized sources.
