Rawalpindi’s City Traffic Police (CTP) has announced a new traffic management plan aimed at easing congestion on major roads and around educational institutions as schools and colleges reopen across the district.
According to a CTP spokesperson, additional traffic personnel will be deployed on busy highways and outside schools and colleges. Forklifts will also be stationed in key areas to tackle illegal parking and prevent disruptions to traffic flow.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam directed circle and sector in-charges to prepare detailed traffic strategies for their respective areas, with a particular focus on school zones. He emphasized the need to provide the best possible arrangements for citizens during peak school hours.
The plan strictly prohibits double parking, parking on one-way streets, and setting up pushcarts outside schools. Extra officers will be on duty during school dismissal hours to ensure that traffic remains smooth.
The CTO further warned that strict action will be taken against anyone obstructing traffic or creating difficulties for other road users. He also appealed to school and college administrations to allocate clear pick-and-drop lanes outside their campuses.
Urging citizens to cooperate, CTO Aslam called on drivers and parents to follow traffic rules responsibly to avoid chaos during rush hours.

It will be a good effort to ease the traffic during the school hours. The strict implementation will only work as most of the biker owners are illiterate and disrespect the rules of traffic.
Early Police officers should guide them politely. After one or two days rule should be implemented irrespectively. Your this plan is appreciable, May Allah bless you
Very good rather bestest action.

At last the authority felt the misery what we people particularly the aged ones used to face while picking and dropping their loved ones for schools and colleges.
Thanks.
Furthermore it would be highly appreciated if the service roads wherever are avilable be restricted to one way particularly on GTroad opposite DHA from shell pump to daig etc.
Regards
One way on service roads copliance be for school working hours
Please instruct and ensure no official on duty uses mobile phone. It’s a very bad and dangerous habit.
Commendable. Although m quite late, I also appreciate the different type of zebra lines outside schools. Now, it is just that it newds to be put into force by the traffic police and school administrations alike.
