The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has drawn up a joint plan with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and airlines to improve passenger services at international arrivals and departures.
The decision came during a meeting held Tuesday at Allama Iqbal International Airport, chaired by FIA Lahore Director (retd.) Capt. Muhammad Ali Zia. Senior officials from the CAA and several airlines also attended.
According to FIA officials, the primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen coordination among institutions, curb human trafficking, and streamline the immigration process to avoid delays for passengers.
Airline and CAA representatives outlined operational challenges and raised concerns about bottlenecks in passenger handling. A consensus was reached on joint steps to improve facilitation and minimize unnecessary delays during immigration clearance.
The meeting also covered enhanced cooperation on document verification to ensure proper checks at every stage of immigration.
FIA Director Zia assured full institutional support and emphasized that coordinated efforts are essential to providing efficient services while maintaining strict checks on illegal activities.
