Gold prices surged to unprecedented levels on Wednesday, setting new all-time highs in both the local and international markets. The price of gold per tola in Pakistan climbed by Rs. 6,000 to reach a record Rs. 376,700, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold also hit a historic high, rising by Rs. 5,144 to settle at Rs. 322,959. This sharp increase follows a day of stability on Tuesday, when gold per tola was priced at Rs. 370,700.
The international gold market mirrored the local trend, with prices reaching a record $3,540 per ounce, including a $20 premium. This marks a $60 increase in a single day, reflecting heightened demand and market volatility.
In addition to gold, silver prices also saw an uptick. The price of silver per tola rose by Rs. 12, reaching Rs. 4,315.
